Walking Group

November walk there had been so much rain recently and everywhere getting muddy - the walkers repeated the sea front walk from Jojo's to the fish market for coffee. An enjoyable gentle flat walk and the weather stayed dry.

September a lovely autumnal walk this morning in the wood in Denstroud Lane, opposite Brook Farm.  It was so quiet and peaceful.  Just the rustle of the trees and the birds tweeting.

August lovely walk through Blean Woods on the red route.  I believe we done nearly 1000 steps on this walk.  Plenty of chatter and coffee at Meadow Grange Nursery afterwards.

GARDENING GROUP

October visit to
Bedgebury National Pinetum.

Our June visit was to Norton Court a 10 acre garden with parkland setting. Mature trees, topiary, wide lawns and clipped yew hedges. Orchard with mown paths through wild flowers.

May's garden visit was a Wisteria Walk at the Witch Hazel Nursery, Newington where we met the owners Chris and Diane and were given a very warm welcome. We had a fabulous tour of the Wisteria given by Chris and learned all about them, we were shocked at how many different types there were. This was followed by tea and cakes made by Diane (a choice of 3 yummy cakes) you can tell she is a WI member. A big thank you to them both for their hospitality.

April and we visited Frith Old Farmhouse in Otterden the home of Gill and Peter who welcomed us with a hot drink and information on how they started their garden. A riot of plants growing together as if in the wild, developed over 40 years. We had a lovely walk around the garden guided by our hosts, who were on hand to give us information on any plants and trees. This was followed by tea and cake. Thank you to Gill and Peter for their hospitality.

March and we had a private visit and tour of Copton Ash Faversham. A garden grown out of a love and fascination with plants. Contains very wide collection including many rarities and newly introduced species raised from wild seed. A lovely guided walk round the garden by Tim followed by tea and delicious cake made by Gillian. All with beautiful weather.

February and our first outing a Snowdrop walk in Brockhill Country Park. This was the day before storm Eunice but look at the lovely weather we had. Big thanks to Jo for organising the trip and the weather.
